Think Ministry 2022

Think Ministry is a day designed for people who are thinking about gospel ministry and people who should be thinking about it.

Held at the RTC Melbourne Campus on Friday 23 September, we’ll be joined by Andrew and Heather Reid, who will lead the plenary sessions. A panel discussion with experienced pastors and gospel workers and 3 elective streams are also scheduled.

It’s a great event for pastors and gospel leaders to bring their trainees and up-and-coming leaders along to.

Ministry Breakouts

Breakout 1: The Call to Ministry (Andrew Reid)

People often speak of being ‘called’ to ministry. Is there such a thing? If there is, what does it look like? If there is not, how do I know if I should think about ministry? What practical things do I need to work through? What help is available?

Breakout 2: Considerations for Women Heading into Ministry (Heather Reid)

Why should women think about ministry? What are the specific challenges women face when training for and engaging in ministry? Women have many things to consider as they move into a lifetime ministry. Some of these are similar to those faced by men, but some are gender specific. This ministry elective is designed to help women think through the challenges they may face as they move towards ministry and work out how best to confront them in practical and biblical ways.

Breakout 3: Mission—Getting from Here to There (Phillip Scheepers)

Are you interested in missions, but have no idea about what steps to take next? The purpose of this elective is to help you think through what a ‘call to missions’ might mean and to guide you in terms of some specific early steps that you can take if you think that this is where the Lord might be leading you.

Conference Speakers

Andrew & Heather Reid

Andrew & Heather have been married for thirty-six years and have been training people for ministry for almost as long. They have served as student workers, independent church planters, theological college lecturers and founders of a Bible college in Singapore. They currently serve at the Centre for Biblical Teaching and attend Cross and Crown in Glen Waverley. Andrew likes writing non-technical Christian books that explain the Bible and teach people how to read the Bible for themselves. Heather’s passion is that as preachers and ministry workers listen to the Word and are changed by it in their preparation, they are able to share its truths in a way that engages both the heart and the mind of their hearers.
