I WANT TO TRAIN FOR PASTORAL MINISTRY
ORDAINED MINISTRY
If you feel called to train for pastoral ministry or mission work, our Ordained Ministry stream is for you. This stream is designed to prepare people for a lifetime of ministry as a preacher, pastor, church planter or missionary. The course grounds future church leaders in reformed theology, biblical exegesis and the skills required for ministry and mission. A Bachelor of Theology, Bachelor of Ministry, Master of Ministry or Master of Divinity degree forms the basis for 3-4 year’s study that can be undertaken either part-time or full-time. The course can be undertaken on our Melbourne CBD campus or in a variety of modes including face-to-face and online studies. Please see our section on flexible delivery.
I WANT TO PREPARE FOR CHRISTIAN SERVICE
CHRISTIAN MINISTRY
If you want to prepare for full time or part time work in a church or a para-church ministry, our Christian Ministry stream is for you. It suits people who aren’t seeking to be ordained as a pastor but who want to serve God in ministry roles such as a pastoral care worker, youth worker or chaplain. Depending on your needs we can design a program of between 1 and 3 years of study (or the part-time equivalent) doing one or more of the following: Diploma of Theology or Ministry, Bachelor of Theology or Ministry, Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma of Divinity, Master of Divinity or Master of Ministry. Study can be undertaken on our Melbourne CBD campus or via a variety of modes. Please see our section on flexible delivery.
I WANT TO BE EQUIPPED FOR THE MARKETPLACE
CHRISTIAN GROWTH
If you want to grow in your knowledge of God and his Word so that you can serve him better in everyday life, studying at the RTC can be a great way to do this! Whether you’re retired, planning a gap year, a new believer, are hungry to know more of God’s Word, or you’re unsure of your direction in life, our Christian Growth stream will challenge you. It’s designed for anyone who wants to know God better while also completing some formal theological study; and so it will neatly coincide with your church involvement or small group participation. Depending on your lifestyle we can design a program that is completed in 1 to 3 years full time or the part time equivalent. Your study options include a Diploma of Theology or Ministry, Bachelor of Theology or ministry, Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma of Divinity, Master of Ministry, or Master of Divinity. And just like other students you have the ability to learn via a number of flexible means.
I WANT TO GROW IN MY FAITH
CHRISTIAN LIVING
Christians are to be salt and light in every part of life. Through our Christian Living stream you will be better equipped to serve Christ in your current or future work setting. Intended for anyone in the workforce, this is a great way to develop a Christian worldview and prepare for life and witness in the marketplace. Studies in the Christian Living stream help equip Christian teachers, professionals, business-people and employees to serve God where he has placed them. Depending on your work commitments we can design a part-time program of between 1 and 3 years, leading to one or more of the following qualifications: Diploma of Theology or Ministry, Bachelor of Theology or Ministry, Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma of Divinity, Master of Divinity or Master of Ministry. We understand flexible delivery is essential for those in the workforce; you can read about our variety of modes here.
I WANT TO SERVE IN MY CHURCH
RTC is rolling out a suite of practical online resources under the title of ‘the Way: Following Jesus Well’. As the name suggests, this program facilitates growth, establishing Christians as lifelong disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ. We have produced high-quality video-based training sessions and resources for churches and small groups. The program addresses Christian discipleship from a foundational level right through to specialised ministry areas such as eldership and small group leaders. A free trial of the first foundational unit ‘Following Jesus – Fostering Intimacy with Christ’ is available for download and use in local church contexts.
